one major event on our trip to san fran, was outside lands music and arts festival in golden gate park august 14-15. we only went on the 15th but it was one of the most amazing days of our lives. leave it to san francisco to have compost and refillable water stations at music festival.

i left my heart in san francisco

we just got home from a roadtrip to san francisco. it's an understatement to say that we fell in love with the city. here are some photos of our time in the bay.

santa monica place

after a few years of reconstruction, the new santa monica place opened on august 6th! it's at the end of the third street promenade on broadway ave.
the new place is really beautiful but it was so crowded you could barely breathe.
we loved all the new stores- bloomingdales, 7 for all mankind, etc
best part? the roof top dining areas.. you can see the ocean!

in early june we went to an amazing exhibit at the hammer museum in westwood. it's a really unique collaboration of many artists. outside the box is here until august 29. be sure to check it out!

for the first post, it's only fitting that we share about food.

sweet rose creamery in brentwood, ca probably makes the best ice cream that we've found in LA. they put their homemade ice cream inside fresh-from-the-oven waffle cones that you'll die for. try the salted caramel or fresh mint... but be sure to prepare for a long wait! http://www.sweetrosecreamery.com/

i recently got back from a trip to marin northern california. on my drive home i stopped by scoop ice cream in fairfax. i fell in love with their homemade honey-vanilla-lavender ice cream and also the chai spice.
